Free, outdoors and full of giant ships to climb — the Armada is a brilliant family day out. Here's how to do it well with little ones.
The whole event is free and open-air, the ships are genuinely exciting to climb aboard, and there's constant movement — sailors, music, food stalls and, most evenings, fireworks. Kids who'd never sit still in a museum love wandering the quays.
Beyond the quays, Étretat's cliffs (with care near edges) and Giverny's gardens are easy wins. The cider farms on the cider route are fun for older kids too.
