Confirmed for 2027 · France

Le Belem

1896 · three-masted barque — one of the first ships confirmed for the Armada de Rouen 2027.

About the ship

Built in 1896, Le Belem is the last great French sailing merchant ship still afloat — a listed national treasure now sailing as a training ship. With her three masts and graceful black hull, she is the undisputed star of the Armada and the one ship everyone wants to board.

What to look for

Her towering masts, the polished wooden deck, and the sheer scale of a 19th-century ocean trader.

Like the rest of the fleet, Le Belem will be moored along the Rouen quays from 17–27 June 2027, and boarding is free. Go early in the day to climb aboard before the queues build — the most famous ships draw crowds by mid-morning. See the full fleet and the programme.

Boarding times & sailings: the official schedule (and any day-sail or cruise options) is released closer to the event. Join the list and we'll send it as soon as it's out. Prefer to sail rather than just visit? See our experiences and Seine cruises.
